Which window and door brands does it name?

The home page names Milgard, Win-Dor, AMSCO and Therma-Tru products and calls them “all crafted in Southern California”.[1] The About page lists Milgard and Jeld-Wen among its affiliations, and the warranty page lists manufacturer warranty information for Milgard, Ply Gem, Jeld Wen, Therma Tru and La Cantina.[5][6] Apart from Milgard, this wiki has not checked these manufacturers’ dealer locators, so dealer status for the other brands is listed as an open question.

What does Milgard’s dealer locator show?

Milgard’s website has three dealer profiles for the company:

  • “Newman Windows & Doors-Carlsbad”, 6110 Yarrow Dr, Carlsbad[7]
  • “Newman Windows & Doors-San Diego”, 4620 Alvarado Canyon Rd, Ste 11, San Diego[11]
  • “Newman Windows & Doors-Mission Viejo”, 27001 La Paz Rd, Ste 266D, Mission Viejo, (714) 660-7912[12]

The profiles describe the dealer as having a showroom and list it as an AX550 dealer. They list awards including “Milgard Dealer of the Month” (14 awards, most recently April 2025), a 2013 “Committed to Excellence Award” from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, San Diego Chapter and a 2012 “Window Door Dealer of the Year Award – Excellence in Customer Service”.[7] Milgard states that dealer profile content is provided by the dealer and that Milgard is not responsible for its accuracy, so the awards are best read as the dealer’s own statements published on Milgard’s site.[7]

The company describes itself as a “Milgard Certified Dealer (Largest Dealer in So. Cal)”, and a 2026 company announcement called it a “Milgard Platinum Dealer”.[5][13] This wiki did not find a Milgard source that confirms the “largest” or “Platinum” descriptions.

Which license classes cover this work?

Both window-and-door licenses carry the B (General Building), C17 (Glazing) and C-61/D28 (Doors, Gates and Activating Devices) classifications.[14][15] CSLB’s classification list describes C17 as glazing work and D28 as a limited specialty for doors, gates and activating devices.[16] See Contractor licenses.

How does the company describe its process?

The company describes a free in-home consultation and what it calls “The Newman Signature Experience”, which it says includes “in-house InstallationMasters™ Certified and trained installers” and a Lifetime Installation Guarantee.[17][3] A 2020 archived version of the website said “we do not hire subcontractors”.[18] These are the company’s descriptions; this wiki has not verified installer certifications.
